Anne, an avid Wildcat fan, attended Northwestern University where she obtained her Bachelor of Communications in Theatre. After teaching and directing children's theatre, she realized her passion for teaching and obtained her Master of the Arts in Teaching from the University of Michigan. She began her teaching career in middle school humanities but took a break to raise her two boys. She returned to the classroom as a long-term substitute teacher prior to taking on the full-time junior high ELA position.

Anne Swoboda is the director of the SMS Drama Department, current parent, St. Monica Parish environment committee member, lector, cantor, and biggest fan of her son’s William and Robert, and dog Stella.
