“¡Saludos! I am so proud to have the opportunity to teach Spanish at St. Monica! I have a minor in Spanish from Michigan State University and studied abroad in Ronda and Granada, Spain. I have also spent time working and learning in both the Dominican Republic and Costa Rica. I have a huge passion for the Spanish language and have always loved it since my first Spanish class in 6th grade. In the past 7 years our family has hosted sisters from Madrid who attended Dominican High School – each for a year. It was an incredible experience for our family and has instilled a passion for Spanish language and culture in all of us. I strive for an interactive, dynamic program that amplifies and guides the St. Monica students’ curiosity in the language and about the culture of the Spanish-speaking world. Spanish speaking countries are predominantly Catholic – so much of their culture and traditions are intertwined with their faith - teaching in a Catholic school allows the opportunity to openly talk and explore the spiritual connections to Hispanic cultural traditions.

I have been married for 18 glorious years and have four fantastic children who are 16, 14, 12 and 9 years old and attend Whitefish Bay High School and St. Monica. We love to watch our kids' sports—tennis, soccer, volleyball, basketball, baseball, and competitive dance! I also enjoy reading, cooking, traveling, coaching volleyball and basketball, and spending time with friends and family.”

Meredith Pence earned her BA and MA from Michigan State University.
