learn, live, love through Jesus.
The 7th grade students studied about ancient China in social studies class. As a culminating activity, the students participated in a Chinese Culture Day and celebrated the Chinese New Year (The Year of the Rooster). They learned about traditional clothing, painted Chinese symbols, learned several Chinese words, learned to count in Chinese, made lanterns and a rooster, learned about the traditional Chinese New Year celebrations, and were served Chinese food for lunch.
For a number of weeks, culminating during Catholic Schools Week, all of the students at St. Monica School were invited to bring in donations to support Sojourner Family Peace Center. These items consisted of personal care items for women and children. The children’s generosity resulted in a delivery of a multitude of items that the Sojourner Family Peace Center was so thankful to receive.
